How Sightline Windows & Doors Sunrise Was Born in Sunrise
We opened this branch in 2012, the same year Sightline itself started, because we kept driving past houses in Sunrise with windows that didn’t fit right and knowing exactly why. The sightline was off. The glass looked pinched in the frame, or the sash sat crooked in the track, or the weep holes were caulked over by someone who didn’t understand pressure equalization. These weren’t cheap windows, mostly. They were expensive windows installed badly.
The moment that stuck with us happened in Sawgrass Estates. A homeowner had paid another company for impact-rated casements, and the job was six months old when we got the call. Water had been running behind the nailing fin since day one because the crew had skipped the sill pan flashing and sealed the gap with silicone instead of backer rod and sealant. The drywall was black. The quote to fix it was higher than the original install. We sat on that person’s porch with a flashlight and showed them what we’d found, piece by piece, and they asked why nobody else had taken the time. We didn’t have a good answer. That night we called about the Sunrise territory. We wanted to be the ones who took the time.
We run this branch under the Haven Standard, which means every job starts with a measured survey you keep, and the price we write down is the price you pay. No other company in Sunrise was doing that in 2012. Most still don’t.
Sonia Raman’s Personal Connection to the Windows & Doors Trade
Sonia Raman didn’t start in an office. She started with a tape measure in her back pocket and aluminum dust on her boots. The tradesman who trained her was a glazier from Hialeah who worked without a pencil, marking cuts with a thumbnail scratch and hitting them dead on every time. She watched him set a 400-pound sliding door by himself, shim it with cedar wedges he carried in a coffee can, and step back to check the sightline from three angles before he touched the fasteners. The smell of silicone and the sound of a properly seated snap-in glazing bead, that clean pop, got into her head and stayed there.
She spent her first years learning what goes wrong when people rush. The window that leaks because the rough opening wasn’t plumbed. The door that binds because the hinge jamb wasn’t held back from the drywall. The impact glass that shatters in a minor storm because the installer used regular-setting blocks instead of silicone-cushioned ones. She fixed those mistakes for other companies, and she saw what those companies charged for the privilege. It made her tired in a way that wasn’t physical.
If she weren’t doing this, she’d probably be restoring old boats in Dania Beach, working with her hands on something that has to keep water out. The principle is the same. Watertight, airtight, done once. What gets her out of bed is the chance to show a homeowner in Tamarac or Plantation or Lauderdale Lakes exactly what they’re paying for, in writing, before anyone lifts a tool. Fourteen years in this trade, and she still checks every measured survey herself.
Meet Sonia Raman - The Person Behind Every Job

Sonia Raman is the Owner and Founder of Sightline Windows & Doors Sunrise. She holds state licensure for window and door installation in Florida and has built her expertise through hands-on fieldwork, manufacturer training programs with ES Windows and Therma-Tru, and fourteen years of solving installation problems that other crews left behind.
What separates Sonia from a corporate franchise technician is simple: she’s the one who answers when the local coordinator connects you to our team, and she’s the one who reviews your measured survey before any order goes in. She doesn’t delegate the part where the numbers have to match reality.
Outside of work, she maintains a small vegetable garden in her Sunrise backyard and treats it with the same precision she applies to a plumb-bob check on a pre-hung unit. Her personal commitment to every customer is direct: she puts her name on the quote, and she puts her name on the callback if anything doesn’t match what we promised.
Before
AfterOur Promise to Sunrise Homeowners
We operate under the Haven Standard, and we mean it literally. H.A.V.E.N. is five clauses, not a slogan.
Have it in writing. Every quote is flat price, written scope, written warranty, signed before we start. We learned this in 2012 when we saw a homeowner in Lauderhill get a verbal quote that somehow doubled when the crew arrived. That doesn’t happen here because the document exists.
Arrive on schedule. We give you a real window, a named technician, and a text when they’re on the way. Not “sometime Tuesday.” Not a four-hour block where you’re trapped inside.
Verified crews. Every pro working under our name is required to hold the license and insurance their state requires. We don’t send strangers to your door.
Evidence on every job. Photos and readings of what we actually found. The moisture meter reading on your old sill. The level photo showing the new frame is plumb. You keep the file.
No surprises. No door upsell. No scope creep. No “while we’re in here.” The price we write is the price you pay. Clause 1 covers it.
Our Credentials

- State-licensed window and door installation contractor in Florida
- Insured & bonded for residential work in Broward County and surrounding areas
- Years of local experience serving Sunrise and neighboring communities
- Strong local reputation built through documented work and customer retention
These credentials matter because you’re letting people cut holes in your home. A state license means someone verified that we know the Florida Building Code, the wind-borne debris requirements for your HVHZ zone, and the difference between a Miami-Dade approved assembly and a standard impact product. Insurance and bonding mean if something goes wrong, you’re not paying to fix it. Local experience means we know which Sunrise subdivisions have the stucco-EIFS transitions that trap moisture, and which ones have the original aluminum windows that won’t accept standard replacement sizes without reframing. We don’t guess. We measure, we document, and we show our work.
Rooted in Sunrise
Our trucks leave from a warehouse near the Sawgrass corridor, and our first jobs most mornings are in Sunrise Lakes, Welleby, or the neighborhoods off Oakland Park Boulevard where the 1980s ranch homes are hitting their window replacement cycle all at once. We’ve worked on homes from the original Plantation development east of University Drive and in the newer construction around Markham Park. We know the afternoon thunderstorms that blow through in July, the salt air that reaches further inland than people expect, and the way the afternoon sun hits west-facing sliders in Sawgrass. This is our territory. We measure it in sixteenths and we account for every one.
