I started Sightline in 2012 after watching a homeowner in Plantation get three different prices for the same opening from the same company, depending on which salesperson showed up. That day I wrote Haven Clause 1: the measurement and the quote are the same document, and the customer keeps both. I still carry a laser measure on every initial survey in Sunrise, Sawgrass, and Weston because I’ve seen too many frames that were “close enough” on paper and wrong by three-eighths in the wall. My specialty is impact-rated glazing assemblies, specifically PGT and CGI lines, and I’ll ask you about your insurance wind mitigation form before I ask about your budget. Off the job, I’m usually restoring mid-century aluminum windows from the 1960s for fun, which teaches you more about thermal expansion than any certification course.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with us since 2018 and runs the crew on every full-frame replacement in Sunrise, from single-hung vinyl retrofits in Sawgrass Mills-adjacent condos to custom geometric assemblies in Plantation Acres. He’s state-licensed, background-checked under Haven Clause 3, and carries his license number on his uniform badge, which he’ll show you at the door without you asking. Darnell K., Service Coordinator
Darnell is the voice you hear when you call (754) 254-5294, and he’s the reason a live person answers 24/7, not a queue. He schedules every measured survey, confirms every product order from our eight manufacturer lines, and tracks every permit submission in Sunrise, Plantation, and Davie, where code requirements for impact-rated assemblies differ by incorporation date. Before joining us in 2021, Darnell spent six years as a permit expeditor in Fort Lauderdale, so he knows which plans examiner will flag a U-factor discrepancy and which one wants the SHGC called out separately. His specialty is the pre-installation packet: the measured survey you keep, the written scope with line-item pricing, the manufacturer spec sheet, and the permit application, all in one PDF before anyone touches your wall. Darnell coaches youth basketball in Sunrise and uses the same whiteboard system for our install schedule that he uses for his team’s zone defense.
James “J.P.” P., Apprentice Installer
J.P. came to us in 2023 through a Broward technical college program, and he’s completing his 2,000-hour apprenticeship under Marcus and Elena. He handles prep, demolition, and sealant application on every job, and he’s already certified in basic PGT vinyl installation. What J.P. lacks in years he makes up for in documentation rigor, Haven Clause 4, he takes the photo record seriously, capturing every stage from stripped opening to final hardware test. His specialty is learning the thermal break details on ECO Window Systems aluminum frames, which he’s studied because his parents’ house in Tamarac still has original single-pane sliders from 1985. J.P. commutes from Coral Springs on a motorcycle that barely fits his tool bag, and he’s the reason we now keep a torque wrench calibrated specifically for ViewLux hardware, after he noticed inconsistent settings on a batch of multipoint locks.
